Designed in 1952 by Raymond Stegeman, the wayfarer was a deliberate break from all-metal aviator and clubmaster eyewear — a bold trapezoidal acetate frame, clean lines, mid-century minimalism that ages without dating. It became one of the defining shapes to come out of that era, and one of the rare designs that still reads as current instead of vintage.
